Our current average acceptance rate is roughly 50%.

All images are viewed in fullview and considered carefully before a decision is made.

_{Don't feel bad if one of your pieces isn't accepted, it happens to everyone!}

The main group goal is to share high-quality macro art without spamming your inbox, so only high-quality deviations will be accepted!

We accept both macro and close-up photography, so even those without dedicated macro equipment can submit their work.

We accept work with minor edits to the original photo but no photomanipulations are allowed--that is, do not add anything to the photo that wasn't originally there (ie. bokeh)

^Hellfirediva's Macro Contest + Update

In case you haven't already heard, ^hellfirediva is holding a huge macro contest (with equally huge prizes), and seems to be upset at the lack of high quality entries! (As you can see in her journal here: [link])

Since you are undoubtedly some of the best macro photographers here on dA, why not give it a shot and cheer her up by entering?

Because one of the main mission statements of this group is that we don't want to flood your inbox with updates and blog entries, you'll see that our posts are rather rare! (4 in our year of existing, in fact.) But, there are a few things to slip in:

As more and more people are joining and submitting there work, more photos must, inevitably, be rejected. Don't despair! Everyone is going to have their work rejected, so don't feel like we have a personal vendetta against you or don't like your work. It's simply a matter of maintaining the high quality standards we've always promised here at #Macro-Photographers.

So, in order to keep you guys updated (without flooding your inbox, of course), the front page will now show each week's submission acceptance rates should you be interested. As of today (Tuesday), we've already accepted 39 deviations and rejected 29, meaning the acceptance rate so far is 57%.

And as always, please think before submitting to a category! It makes my life much easier
